Hagalaz Upright Meaning

Hagalaz is representative of hail which is both a destructive force but is also life-giving water. Change is an essential part of life, and while Hagalaz represents destruction or even a temporary setback, whatever happens, will bring necessary life to your evolution and future growth.

As much as one may try to control all circumstances, Hagalaz is a reminder that they are sometimes out of our control. Life sometimes presents unexpected disasters, chaos, and problems, but this destruction allows for the possibility to build an even stronger foundation from the wreckage and ruin. This rune asks you to remain resilient and go with the flow rather than resist changes.

Hagalaz Reversed Meaning

Hagalaz has no reversed meaning. But when sideways (or in opposition), this can be read as additional attempts to resist the inevitable change and the need to get with the program.

Magical Uses of Hagalaz

Hagalaz is a useful rune for protection magic. It works as a shield that fights back when others sling negative energy your way. Hagalaz will allow uncomfortable forces to bounce off of you and back to where they came from. It can also help you break and leave behind patterns that no longer serve and generate luck.

Hagalaz is the perfect rune to help you get through any difficult times in your life and assists in balancing your inner power.
